Vignola

Rich lampas based on textiles from the first half of the sixteenth century. The decoration features typical elements from the classical repertoire of the late Renaissance, in which spirals and flowers form sophisticated ornamental symmetries. The use of lustrous wefts provides variety for the different parts of the pattern, by distinguishing various degrees of luminosity. The entire fabric is further enhanced by the luxurious sheen of the silk ground.
