Tela is an armchair in which form and the materials used (wood and fabric here) interact closely and inextricably together to strengthen and enhance each other. High manufacturing skill is offset by best use of the fabric. The structure of the seat is in hardwood. Tela is available in two wood types – natural walnut which enhances its elegance and radiance, or mocha stained ash which underscores its sinuous appearance. All the constructional details, such as the original joint between back, legs and arms upholstered in fabric, like the other joints, slightly rounded, were designed to highlight the total craft quality of this piece. The distinctive feature of this armchair is to be sought in the fabric which makes up the seat and back and is bonded to the leather, a totally new technical solution which, by adding consistency to the fabric, turns it into a structural element without however depriving it of its elegance and intrinsic luxury. Tela is the manifestation of lightweight solidity. A highly successful oxymoron.
