Silkglass

Silk Glass is a composition of damask 'tesserae' from different periods (17th and 18th centuries), housed in the historical archive. Joining up small fragments produces a new silky pattern, elegant and coloured like blown glass. A “glassy” fabric which, thanks to the use of particular yarns and specific processes, is able to evoke the iridescence and almost incorporeal transparency of Murano glass artefacts and in particular the artistic glass creations of the Venetian architect and designer Carlo Scarpa.
