Hand-made cut and uncut velvet, known in Venice as ""Soprarizzo” Velvet decorated with a small geometric motif. Exquisite fabrics like these were used in the second half of the 16th century. Despite its small size, the decorative motif is created by the cut pile of the velvet and bordered by curled pile in the ancient tradition of figured velvet. The elegance of this fabric derives from the refined tonal transitions skilful combination of cut and uncut pile, standing out against the ground.
