Giorgione ancien

Hand-made cut and uncut velvet, known in Venice as "Soprarizzo” Richly multicoloured velvet standing out for the variety of motifs and techniques used. Inspired by a French 18th century original, the pattern closely follows the canons of dynamism and sinuosity required by rococo taste. Deriving from study of ancient manual production techniques, the fabric is of exceptionally high quality with a rich range of colours emphasised by the tonal transition created by contrasting cut and uncut pile areas.
