Damask has a new meaning. The design is a classic from the 16th century. The innovative element comes from the canneté ground which gives it a contemporary nature. Soft wefts in wool emerge on the silk ground.
Martino Gamper was born in Merano, North Italy in 1971. After completing an apprenticeship as a cabinet maker, he went on to study at the Academy of Applied Arts & Fine Arts in Vienna and the Royal College of Art in London, graduating with a masters in 2000.
