Lampas with decoration made up of a series of “waves”, structured to create an elegant and expansive winding pattern to add movement to the surface. The fabric with its perfect structuring of elements, was first shown at the Milan Triennale in 1940, is indicative of the use of geometric elements in full rationalist style, fashionable from the 1930s. The comparison of the fabric to examples of cutting-edge Italian design is demonstrated by the fact that a photo of the original was published that same year in the prestigious magazine Domus edited by a young but already well-renowned Giò Ponti. Lampas which is so closely linked to the history of Italian design and is an essential part of the Rubelli 2014 collection. The fabric is played out in a palette of ten colour versions which range from neutrals to yellows, moving towards the greens and browns, all colours designed in a style of understated elegance.
