Silk damask. The most celebrated and best known item in the Rubelli collection! Baroque damask in pure silk; is reintroduced in an updated colour range which includes sophisticated neutrals and delicate pastels. The chiné effect (skein dyed) has been retained, or rather enhanced. This is a special, wholly craft-style dyeing technique, whereby the silk, divided into skeins, is immersed in successive phases in three different dye baths, starting with the lighter colour and ending with the dark one. Another significant feature is the hammered surface, obtained by alternating normal wefts which the tension of the thread is alternated when pulled and twisted.
