Rubelli at T Fondaco

On October 1st, “T Fondaco” will open in the heart of Venice, in the Fondaco dei Tedeschi near Rialto bridge: a new luxury pole of the prestigious LVMH Group.

The Fondaco dei Tedeschi, for centuries landmark for German merchants landing in the Republic of Venice, has become an exclusive shopping centre. After being closed for 8 years, its recovery work was commissioned to the well-known architect Rem Koolhaas and took 3 years.

T Fondaco, where T means travelers, identifies a chain of shopping centres with extra-luxury boutiques of important brands known worldwide.  T Fondaco is a shopping centre, but also a cultural pole with conference rooms and exhibitions. Moreover on the ground floor it hosts also a café furnished with Philippe Starck products.

Rubelli had to be present.

For the occasion, in name of the typical Venetian tradition of showing precious drapes on the windows during local events or celebrations, Rubelli produced a series of custom-made draperies using its precious brocades such as Palestrina, Luigi XIV, Semiramide and Versailles, all lined with Leonard satin. A demanding project which took 6 months of work. The draperies, put on the loggias of the Fondaco. will be a “Venetian” touch: indicating the various departments, they will help the clientele to find the right way  in the new and big store.

Besides the draperies, Rubelli is present with the wall covering Lady Hamilton Wall and Rio Terà Console in the very exclusive Prestige Lounge.

Once again Rubelli has played an important role in the luxury field and at the same time has remarked its deep connection with the lagoon city.
