Rubelli and Automobili Lamborghini at Milan Design Week 2016

For the Milan Salone del Mobile Rubelli is to display the results of an exercise in style performed together with Automobili Lamborghini on the Huracán LP 610-4 Spyder.

A weft of good looks and a warp of speed have produced weaves of true Italian excellence designed to amaze and excite both the more sophisticated devotees of good design and the more demanding car fans.

The dynamic, pure and well-defined lines that are features of the silhouette of the new Huracán Spyder are heightened by the sketched strokes, spontaneous and minimalist, in the pattern of the Aspern Rubelli fabric used for covering the car’s soft top and interiors. The distinctive Lamborghini style idiom, forever true to the design philosophy of the Casa del Toro whereby “form follows function”, is therefore given the artistic touch of the Rubelli Design Studio for the occasion in a symbiotic process which simultaneously generates amazement and admiration absolutely suitable for “Wonderland”.

The emotional content which is a feature of the driving dimension of the super sports car Lamborghini is in turn given a playful and creative rethink by the Rubelli Design Studio which transforms, almost by magic, a sporty seat into a suspended seat, the ideal alternative to the Huracán Spyder for soaring through the open air.

“Projects with companies from outside our industry have always represented the ideal opportunity for Rubelli to try out new forms of expression that can showcase our skills”, said Nicolò Favaretto Rubelli, CEO of Rubelli S.p.A. “Working with Automobili Lamborghini was exciting and stimulating for us, at least as much as driving one of their splendid supercars”.

“Rubelli Design Studio’s interpretation of the Huracán Spyder is an exercise in style originating in the joint project with Lamborghini AdPersonam which underlines how the design of these cars inspires artistic interpretations in areas which only indirectly relate to the purely automotive field”. These are the words of Vittorio Gabba, in charge of the Lamborghini AdPersonam program.

Through this program Automobili Lamborghini allows every customer to create a bespoke supercar and to fit it out via a choice of colours, leathers and kits outside of those included in the range.
