Rubelli & Eataly at Expo Milano 2015: Italian passion meets art

Eataly, global distributor of the absolute best in Italian wine and food products, meets Rubelli, Venice textiles company known all over the world for its ultra-refined product range, with an immediate triumph of emotions that win over the heart and senses. All this with a view to quality and culture.
In the Eataly pavilion at Expo Milano 2015 the culture of haute cuisine and fine wines promoted with pride by Eataly is interwoven with the art of textile manufacture and interior decoration of Rubelli, whose textiles furnish, “tastefully”, private homes and elegant restaurants all over the planet.
The Rosso Reale textiles exhibition, recently staged in the Fontanafredda winery at Serralunga d’Alba, represented the first partnership project between Rubelli and Eataly. This successful “contamination” between two only apparently distant success stories - textiles and wine - now continues at Expo. Rubelli is present there with textile installations of great visual and tactile impact which decorate and define the spaces dedicated to the culture and excellence of food.

Red is the dominant colour in the display curated by Vittorio Sgarbi in which strictly red textures and velvet form the backdrop for the gallery of famous Italian masterpieces, and for the two “works of art” displayed by Rubelli: a fifteenth-century tunic taken out of the company’s historical archive for the occasion and a contemporary work by designers from the Venice maison. Works that are demonstration of how Rubelli has succeeded in evolving, growing, innovating and renewing, using ever-new interpretation processes and technologies yet without losing sight of a tradition spanning over a hundred years.
The highly original textile installations in the Eataly pavilion set out to give a unique and appealing reinterpretation through different colour effects of the staple foods and ingredients of many cultures: the white of flour and bread, the yellow and green of oil, the dark and light blue of water and seafood, the red of wine.
