TREARCHI introduces a pattern made up of a series of wavy lines deliberately broken to create a lighter pattern. A process of lightening of the design which, combined with the richness of the silk, creates a fabric whose minimalism and symmetry conform to the innate rules of classical elegance.
TREARCHI is available in 7 colours, from aquamarine to green via red, the very new colour in the 2011 collection.

CORDERIE is produced from an actual plaiting of ribbons, almost knots. At the design and production stages for this article a pattern of ribbons, plaited together, was made by hand and later reproduced by applying the jacquard technique.
An interesting development which draws attention to an unusual step in the creative process.

PAPADOPOLI is a faux uni with a chenille effect, achieved through the overlapping of two polka dot patterns, one ethereal and the other more visible. Another grid of matte raised polka dots is arranged over a dense lattice of shiny polka dots to obtain a pleasing 3D effect. Available in 12 colour versions, PAPADOPOLI has the advantage if being dual purpose.
7613 - Pontil. Jacquard

The series of elegant fabrics also includes PONTIL: made in double width, it was designed for decoration. A kind of lightweight quilting, it has a soft effect and a pattern of shiny small polka dots on an iridescent ground of mercerised cotton.

MALVASIA is a cotton velvet printed with a floral design with a watercolour effect. Taken from a sketch kept in the Rubelli archives, it is made on a larger scale compared to the original.
The print on velvet has the special feature of making the colours deeper and more textural.
MALVASIA is available in 4 versions: one multicoloured, one in mostly red, one with cooler colours and a fourth in mainly midnight blue and dark red, almost like ink stains.
7615 - Spritz. Shimmering velvet

SPRITZ, a brand new product, is a cotton velvet with iridescent effect obtained thanks to a special printing process which consists of a highly calibrated overlapping of colour tones involving as many as five different processes. The result is a very special velvet in an almost period style. Available in 16 versions, it is definitely the most luxurious in its class.

A large floral pattern, played out on shaded tones, is a feature of FLORIAN, a liseré in mercerised cotton. The flower of the watercolour painting from which the design was taken has been blown up to a considerable size.
The striking shading effect was created from the nuances of the weavings and beautifully rendered with the precision of a printed fabric.
The large flowers are very delicate in appearance as the petals are strictly in a luminous white (in all versions) and colour, always shaded, was only used for their borders.
7617 - Frezzeria. Printed stripe

A new geometry of lines is a mark of the FREZZERIA printed cotton satin which reproduces a sequence of coloured ribbons arranged at a regular distance one from the other on a plain colour ground. A decidedly innovative stripe with watercolour shades and the use of luminous white, like in the FLORIAN liseré with which it is coordinated.
The idea that led to the creation of this fabric comes from over the pond, more specifically from a set of multicoloured ribbons purchased from a store in the centre of New York. Interestingly, during the design phase of this printed fabric, these multicoloured ribbons were glued to a plain colour canvas in order to visualise the end result better.

After the major success and widespread use in the 1970s, followed by a period of virtually total oblivion, wallpaper and wall fabrics are now bursting back into the limelight.
Thus, after years away, two wall fabrics have reappeared in the Rubelli collection - ORMESIN and TINTOR.
ORMESIN features an iridescent effect and is available in 26 colours. All the colours can be coordinated perfectly with the new jacquards and the new plain fabrics for all-Rubelli soft furnishings.

BASEGIO is a jacquard with satin ground offering a pseudo-geometric pattern of broken and vertical wavy lines. The new feature is the formation of vertical breaks above the pattern (like in TREARCHI with its horizontal breaks). These breaks create an unusual movement so that these lines appear and disappear at intervals, creating a highly original graphic effect.

BARNABA is a development on the stripe, a pekin featuring two wide bands of satin on a taffeta ground partially topped by a micro design with embroidery effect in relief which adds richness to its appearance.

BORTOLO is also a faux uni with an elegant fan shape, a decorative pattern found since ancient times in oriental and western works of art. The technical novelty consists in combining the chintz effect on a matelassé ground.

BRAGORA is made by the same technique as BASEGIO, with the geometric pattern replaced by an abraded floral pattern.
19981 - Ruzante. Damask

Silk with ground elegantly marked out by striated effects on which decorations of flowers and rich foliage are structured, creating graceful ogival shapes. In this two-colour damask the pattern stands out against the ground thanks to the use of shiny linen and acetate wefts. The characteristics of the warp and weft yarn in fact give a special and luxurious light to the fabric. The palette consists of as many as thirteen colours, ranging from shades of green to gold and finally neutrals.

A faux uni resulting from the study of the rip effects seen on some ancient fabrics stored in the company’s archives. Thanks to a skilful play between the matte weft elements, which imitate worn parts, and the shiny ground in silk satin an elegant and aristocratic lampas is obtained with an antique aesthetic. The rich palette is composed of as many as thirteen colours, often heightened by the weave of the satin ground.

A silk lampas which is distinctive in its dense “lace” decoration made up of elegant scrolls, stylised flowers and foliage stretching across the whole surface. The traditional lace decoration, although larger in size, retains that vast variety of textures, patterns and plays on surfaces and transparencies which are part of the eighteenth-century Venetian lace repertoire. The range of six colours starts with yellow to flow towards reds, browns, neutrals and light blues.

Silk with high repeat pattern on which large cornices in a Rococo style are spread out together with a wide variety of floral and plant elements and figures and objects. In the true, full spirit of eighteenth-century decoration the various parts of the pattern are arranged with an elegant, sinuous rhythm. Exotic and chinoiserie motifs in places seem almost to come together to describe a story, an anecdote. This lampas, available in two versions, one in gold and in the other in silver tones, is suitable for upholstery and sumptuous drapes and curtains.

Cotton fabric where a sinuous composition of stalks, branches and flowers creates a sophisticated polychrome decoration. The true richness of this fabric lies in the variety of colours in different tones on the buds, petals and flowers. As in the French originals of the eighteenth century, from which the fabric is taken, here too the colour variety is matched with a graceful floral pattern. The use of cotton yarns enables a quality to be obtained with a full and generous hand which makes it suitable for upholstery. The palette here is made up of three versions: the first on a light ground with pattern in three shades of green for the sprigs and tones of tonal pink, light blue and yellow for the flowers. The other two versions, both on a slightly darker ground compared to the first, differ in the colour range of the decoration: one is developed in light blues and pinks, the other builds its variations on the theme of red.

Broccatelle with a late baroque decoration of acanthus foliage, flowers and elements of lace which form large tufts arranged alternately. A fabric with a strong classical nature whose salient features are: vibrating colours created by the chiné striations of the ground, a three-dimensional effect produced by the raised surface achieved thanks to the brocatelle technique and finally the elegance gained from the extensive and well-balanced choreography of rich and abundant shapes. Four versions of which two neutrals, one red and one green.
